Two brothers drown in canal in Haryana

Fatehabad, Jun 6 (UNI) Two brothers were drowned in the Sidhmukh canal near Bhoda Hoshnak village in this district today.

According to police reports, the brothers, Vijender (16) and Devinder Singh, both sons of Vijay Singh had gone to take bath in the canal.

Vijender went into the canal and got trapped in the water currents. Devinder jumped in to the canal to save his brother, but both were swept away by the strong current.

The villagers stopped vehicular traffic on the outskirts of the village demanding closure of the canal so that the bodies could be fished out.

SDM J K Abhir and DSP Satyavir Singh rushed to the spot to supervise operations to locate the bodies of the two youths.
