Spurious medicines worth over Rs 1 cr seized

Agra, June 6 (UNI) Police today said they have seized a haul of spurious drugs and their samples worth Rs 1.25 crore in Kotwali area here.

On a tip-off, police raided Manoj Sharma's house in Phavara colony along with drug inspectors late last night.

The seizure included spurious syrups, antibiotics and samples of other medicines worth Rs one crore, which were being sold under the label of branded companies.

In another raid in the same colony, fake drugs estimated at Rs 25 lakh were recovered from the spot.

Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Raghubeer Lal said efforts to bust the racket, involved in this illicit business were underway.
