Sonia likely to visit Bihar in first week of July
Patna, Jun 6 (UNI) Congress President Sonia Gandhi is likely to visit Bihar in the first week of July.
Ms Gandhi had consented to visit Bihar on the request of a delegation of the state Congress, which called on her in New Delhi today.
Chief spokesman of the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) Kripa Nath Pathak told UNI that a delegation of the BPCC, led by state president Sadanand Singh, called on Ms Gandhi and apprised her of the ongoing agitational programmes of the party in Bihar.
The delegation also discussed with Ms Gandhi the strategies to be adopted by the party in the state during the next Lok Sabha election, he said.
The Congress president also took stock of the preparation being made by the party for Parliamentary election in Bihar, he stated.
Ms Gandhi was also informed that the party would again launch 'Congress chali gaon ki ore' (Congress moving towards villages) programme in all the 8471 Panchayats in 39 districts of the state from June 11, Mr Pathak said.
