PAC appeals to underground factions for a rethink

Kohima, Jun 06 (UNI) The Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of the ruling Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) government has appealed to the warring underground groups to have a serious rethink over the current state of affairs arising out of fratricidal killings.

In a statement, PAC Chairman Dr T M Lotha said fratricidal killings would jeopardise the process of reconciliation and unity and appealed to all factions to work towards finding out a solution to the Naga political problem.

He said the killings amongst the Naga brethren should be condemned in the strongest terms by everyone and these unwanted acts of factional violence were taking place at a time when all the Naga people were yearning for peace and harmony.

The Chairman stated that the various agencies of the Naga society had been consistently and vigorously pursuing reconciliation and unity amongst the Naga society.

Dr Lotha appealed to all the factions to extend their cooperation and support to the efforts of various agencies in the state towards making the process of reconciliation and unity among the Naga people a success.
