JD(S) members protest against Governor on MSP for Sugarcane
Bangalore, June 6 (UNI) Janata Dal Legislators today trooped into the well of the House to register their protest against Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur for not implementing assurances made on Minimum Support Price (MSP) to Sugar cane supplied to Sugar factories.
As soon as the Governor stood to deliver his Joint Address to the Legislature, the JD(S) members were on their heels thronged into the well of the House shouting slogans against Mr Thakur.
The JD(S) members Umesh Katti, H D Revanna and others charged that the Governor, during President's rule, failed to implement the assurance given through Government Order on Minimum Support Price (MSP) for Sugarcane supplied to Sugar factories. Prakash Hukkeri (Cong) also joined the protest on the issue.
The ruling BJP members and other Congress leaders however remained silent. However the Governor, unpertubed by the protest, continued his speech which could not be heard properly. After few minutes of protest the JD(S) legislators resumed to their seats.
