Foreign currency seized, 8 traders held
Siddharthnagar, Jun 6 (UNI) Police today sent to jail eight traders, who clashed with them, following a seizure of smuggled foreign currency here.
On June 4, Sajeevan and Lalit Gupta were caught with 50,000 Iraqi dinars after a raid in Badni town, police said.
Agitated over the incident, the trader community attacked the police team, in which two sleuths had suffered wounds.
The recovery was estimated at Rs 12.5 lakh as per Indian currency.
A case was later registered against 10 named and 150 other traders.
