Bung worth 300 kanals destroyed in south Kashmir
Srinagar Jun 6 (UNI) Authorities in south Kashmir have destroyed cannabis (bung) cultivated over 300 kanals of land, official sources said.
They said Jammu and Kashmir Police under the supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner launched a massive operation against bung and poppy cultivation in south Kashmir.
During the raids, bung worth over 300 kanals was destroyed and a formal case was registered against land owners.
The sources said drive against the banned crops would continue.
Poppy and other banned crops spread over hundreds of hectares of land were destroyed in south Kashmir district of Anantnag and Pulwama last summer. About a dozen smugglers were also taken into custody.
