Appoint new Governor; CPI(M)
Srinagar, June 6 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (M) in Jammu and Kashmir today demanded immediate appointment of a new Governor in the state.
State secretary of the CPI(M) Mohammad Yousuf Targami said the present Governor Lt General (retd) S K Sinha has completed his term in the state and he should be replaced immediately.
Mr Targami alleged that Gen Sinha was indulging in some administrative matters which were totally out of his jurisdiction.
He said the recent controversies over Amarnath yatra because of some of his statements and actions were very ''unfortunate.'' The leader of the CPI(M) in the state Assembly said the Governor was unnecessarily trying to interfere in administrative and political matters.
He said the Centre should immediately appoint a new Governor as the term of Gen Sinha has already came to an end and he should not be allowed to continue in office.
