Another villager injured by wild bear in Kashmir

Srinagar, June 6 (UNI) Panic gripped Chatergul in the central Kashmir district of Ganderbal when a wild bear attacked and injured one person today, official sources said.

They said a wild bear suddenly appeared at village Chatergul, Kangan, and started attacking villagers who were busy with their work.

Before the villagers could do anything, the bear attacked and injured one Mohammad Akbar Shah. However, Shah was rescued immediately and later shifted to hospital.

The animal-man conflict in Jammu and Kashmir has claimed more than 25 lives and injured scores of others since past six months. Six wild animals were also killed by the people in retaliation during the same period.
