YCMOU releases environmental science VCDs

Nashik, June 5 (UNI) Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) released as many as 30 VCDs based on environment science, on the occasion of world Environment day today.

The VCDs released by UGC New Delhi vice-chairman Dr Mool Chand Sharma at a function here, contain lectures by Chipko Movement leader Sundarlal Babuguna, Dr Anand Karve and Dr Anand Chitale.

Two of these VCDs have won national and international awards.

YCMOU has taken the initiative on the lines of directive of the supreme court to make ''environmental awareness'' a compulsory subject in educational institutions.
