Retirement age of teaching doctors raised to 65 yrs
New Delhi, Jun 5 (UNI) The Government today raised the retirement age of the specialists teaching Central Health Service (CHS) doctors from 62 to 65 years.
''The enhanced age of retirement would be available to those specialists who are engaged only in teaching activities and are not occupying administrative positions,'' Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi told reporters after the Union Cabinet meeting that gave the approval.
Such CHS officers who are occupying administrative positions would have the option of seeking appointment to teaching positions in case they wish to continue up to 65 years, Mr Dasmunsi said.
He said the decision would not have any financial implication.
