Refrain from activities posing danger to nature: Dubey

Lucknow, Jun 5 (UNI) Blaming man-made materials solely responsible for the alarming pollution rate, Uttar Pradesh Environment and Urban Development Minister Nakul Dubey today alerted the people to polythene and other materials posing danger to the environment.

Expressing concern over the wide use of polythene and its undisposeble characteristics, the minister said though polythene was a multipurpose material and was cheap and convinient, but it causes great damage to the environment.

Polythene blocks water and other permeable materials to get into the soil, on the other hand, was causing great hazard to the animal health, Mr dubey said.

'Ironically, we all are aware of it's harmfull affects, still exploiting it to the maximum in our day to day life," he asserted.

''We should mark the world environment day by pledging of not using polythene or such material from today,'' Mr Dubey stressed.

He further said 'we need to widen our arena of thinking and should refrain ourselves from the activities that causes any damage to nature." UNI PDM SP UCS1956
