Pulichintala project to be completed next year: YSR
Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, June 5 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said the construction works of Pulichintala irrigation project, taken up on river Krishna, would be completed next year.
Participating in a public meeting after conducting an aerial survey of the project, he said the Government would continue the free power scheme till the Congress was at the helm of affairs in the State.
Alleging that the previous Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Government had neglected the farm sector, he said the Congress promoted agriculture as a 'profitable business' and title deeds would be handed over to tribals, cultivating in forest lands at the earliest.
Earlier, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the lift irrigation project near Veldurthi. He also inaugurated the Rajiv Gruhakalpa' housing complex in Guntur town as part of his official tour of the district.
