Overnight rain cools Delhi again, mercury drops to 35.8 deg C

New Delhi, Jun 5 (UNI) Light to moderate overnight rains today brought about coolness in the air in Delhi, leading to a drop in mercury to 35.8 degrees celsius.

The overnight rains and thundershowers, which came after a dry and sunny weather since the beginning of the week, brought down the maximum temperature, from 38.3 degrees celsius yesterday, to 35.8 degrees C, five degrees below normal.

Though the high level of humidity left Delhiites perspiring, the drop in mercury brought relief for Delhiites from the hot conditions of the past couple of days.

A total of 1.6 mm rain was recorded till 0830 hrs.

More rain and thundershowers have been forecast in the next 24 hours as the Met office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in the capital during the next 24 hours with likelihood of rain and thundershowers in a few areas.
