Nitish govt failed on all fronts:Lav-Kush Ekta Manch
Patna, Jun 5 (UNI) 'Lav-Kush Ekta Manch' today described the two and half year tenure of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as the regime of 'utter failure' on all fronts.
Addressing a meeting of the Lav-Kush Ekta Manch here, its convenor and former legislator Satish Kumar exhorted members of the community to unite and launch a sustained struggle against the 'failures' of the Nitish Kumar government.
He said the failures include law and order, 'shedding cold water' on the hopes and aspirations of the masses, particularly members of the Lav-Kush community who played a pivotal role in voting the NDA to power in the state.
''The NDA government came to power in November 2005 on strong support from the Lav-Kush community but it did not bother to take care of their interest,'' he said adding of the 10 MLCs and Rajya Sabha members nominated and elected during the last two years from BJP, an ally of ruling NDA in the state, not a single candidate of the community was accommodated.
Instead of striving to make Bihar a developed and prosperous state, the Nitish Kumar government was only engaged in dousing fire of growing dissidence in the party, he alleged. He said the chief minister had no time to think over the ideology and thoughts of total revolution propounded by the great socialist leader Jai Prakash Narain about three decades back on June 5.
Mr Kumar said the NDA government had 'miserably failed' on the law and order front. Incidents of naxal attacks had increased throwing an open challenge to the state authority.
''Despite the tall claims of the chief minister for tapping the vast potential of agriculture in the state, his government has failed to provide power in rural areas for irrigation and even basic requrements like timely delivery of seeds and fertilisers were not being made to farmers,'' Mr Kumar said adding no investments had been made so far in any sector, inluding the much talked about sugar mills,'' he said.
The convener of the Manch announced that it would organise rally at the historic Gandhi Maidan in October-November to give a call for overthrowing the Nitish Kumar government if it failed to mend its ways during the intervening period.
