Governor prays at Amarnath shrine for peace

Srinagar, June 5 (UNI) Praying for peace and tranquility in the state Jammu and Kashmir Governor Lt General (retd) S K Sinha expressed the hope that Amarnath pilgrimage, a symbol of the valley's pluralistic ethos, will cement the bonds of brotherhood among people.

The Governor paid obeisance along with Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) Dr Arun Kumar at the holy cave situated at 3,888 meters.

He said the valley of sufis and Saints inherits the glorious ethos of tolerance, co-existence and love that makes Kashmir distinct in whole of the country.

Meanwhile, Lt General Sinha, who heads the Board, took stock of the arrangements made with regard to track clearance and raising of temporary pre fab structures at Baltal and the holy cave.

He talked to engineers and discussed the arrangements for the annual pilgrimage beginning on June 18 this year.
