Unmarried daughters of pensioners to get family pension
Chandigarh, June 4 (UNI) The Haryana government has decided to grant family pension to the eligible unmarried daughters of the pensioners beyond the age of 25 years.
Stating this here today, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said the decision to amend the Family Pension Scheme, 1964 had been taken in view of the long pending demand of Haryana Civil Pensioners Welfare Association and Pensioners and Senior Citizens Welfare Association.
These associations had urged the government to grant family pension to unmarried daughters at par with the widow and divorced daughters of pensioners on the Centre's pattern.
Giving the details of the scheme, Mr Hooda said it had been decided that unmarried daughters beyond the age of 25 years would now be eligible for family pension at par with the widow and divorced daughters.
The pension would be payable in order of their date of birth and younger of them would not be eligible for family pension unless the next above her had become ineligible for grant of family pension.
It had also been decided that as per the income parameters to become eligible for getting family pension, a widow or divorced daughter and son should not have monthly income more than Rs 2550, he added.
