Triple homicide in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Jun 4: Three members of a family were killed this morning in Kosmanda, about five km from Janjgir-Champa district headquarters, as a result of a land dispute, police said.

Firtu Sahu, his wife Itwara Bai and nephew were murdered yesterday when they were undertaking construction work on the disputed land that had been handed over to them just two days back by the tehsildar. Rajkumar and some others came armed with stabbing weapons and lathis.

Later, Rajkumar and his wife surrendered to police. A mob blocked a national highway after the homicide. An additional police force was rushed to the area.
