Three labourers killed in wall collapse in city

Hyderabad, Jun 4: Three labourers were killed and four seriously injured when a 15-feet wall collapsed on them near Annapurna Studios at Jubilee Hills area in the city today.

Police said three bodies were recovered from the debris while the injured were shifted to a nearby corporate hospital. The Municipal authorities were removing the rubbles to find bodies under it.

More than 15 labourers were digging a 20-feet pit near the wall when it caved in. All the victims belonged to Dindi village in Nalgonda district of Andhra Pradesh.

Energy Minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Backward Classes Welfare Minister M Mukesh Goud and Khairatabad MLA P Vishnuvardhan Reddy immediately rushed to the spot.

Mr Shabbir said the government would provide free treatment to the injured.

Action would be taken against the builder for taking up the construction without following the safety norms, he added.
