SSL launches ORTHAHEEL in India
Chennai, Jun 4 (UNI) SSL International plc, UK a (parent company of SSL-TTK Ltd) today launched ORTHAHEEL, a well known orthotics brand in the Indian market.
ORTHAHEEL is a strategic fit for SSL International, complementing the existing Scholl range and connecting both footcare and footwear and would further strengthen the position of Scholl as 'World's No one Footcare specialist'.
ORTHAHEEL was invented by a well known podiatrist from Australia, Philip Vasyli, Chairman of Vasyli International.
Mr Philip said the basic premise on which ORTHAHEEL products were developed was that, while human foot was originally designed to travel on soft natural surfaces like earth and sand, we now spend every day walking and standing on unnatural hard, flat surfaces.
The Chairman said these surfaces force our heels to roll over to gain ground contact and our arches to flatten. Rolling over of the foot or 'excess pronation' was known to affect a large number of people, he added.
