Record arrival of wheat in Haryana

Chandigarh, June 4 (UNI) A record arrival of 53.06 lakh metric tonnes (MTs) of wheat has been reported in the mandis of the state so far during the current rabi season as against 37.37 lakh MTs in the whole season last year.

Of the total arrival this year, 52.28 lakh metric tonnes of wheat had been purchased by six government procuring agencies, an official spokesman said today.

Giving the details, he said HAFED had procured 19.30 lakh MTs of wheat, Food and Supplies Department 10.82 lakh MTs, Food Corporation of India 7.84 lakh MTs, Haryana Warehousing Corporation 4.87 lakh MTs, Confed 4.81 lakh MTs and Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 4.62 lakh MTs. The traders had procured only 77923 MTs.
