Petroleum price hike will help inflation rise: Rupala

Ahmedabad, Jun 4 (UNI) Gujarat BJP president Purshottam Rupala today flayed the Congress led-UPA Government at the Centre for hike in petroleum products, saying it will make inflation grow in double digits.

Mr Rupala alleged that the UPA Government has completely ruined the economic growth of the country, made in the last few years.

''This was eighth instance of price hike of petroleum products, made by the UPA Government. The rise will completely crush the commonman in the vicious circle of inflation, generated by the hike,'' he said in a statement.

The inflation is rising at 8 per cent, and the petroleum price hike will definitely make it (inflation rise) to double digits, he said.

The BJP leader, demanding the Central Government to roll-back its decision said, the price hike will deeply hurt the farmers also, as the cost of growing foodgrains will rise.
