Nepali leaders positive about giving Nagarjuna palace to former King

Kathmandu, June 4 : The request of former King Gyanendra to use Nagarjuna Palace for the time being has received positive response from the Nepali Congress (NC), the Unified Marxist Leninist (UML) and the Maoists.

According to Nepalnews, during his meeting with Home Minister Krishna Sitaula, King Gyanendra had requested the Government to allowing him to use the Nagarjuna Palace after he vacates the Narayanhiti Palace.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala held talks with Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (CPN-M) Chairman Prachanda and UML General Secretary Jhalnath Khanal about this request.

A formal decision on the issue of Gyanendra being allowed to use Nagarjuna Palace is expected to be taken at the next cabinet meeting.

The first meeting of Constituent Assembly (CA), on May 28, had implemented republic in Nepal and asked former King to vacate the palace within 15 days.
