Left in Pondy calls for bandh on Jun 7
Puducherry, Jun 4 (UNI) Left parties here today called for a 12-hour bandh on June seven to protest the increase in the prices of petrol, diesel and LPG.
Addressing a joint press conference here, CPI State Secretary Na Ra Kalainathan and CPI (M) Secretary V Perumal sought the support of all sections of the public to make the bandh a success.
Pointing out the party High Command had directed the governments in Left-ruled states to bring down the prices of petroleum products by reducing the Sales Tax, they appealed to Chief Minister N Rangasamy to follow suit in Puducherry.
