Jeweller shot dead in Roorkee

Hardwar, Jun 4 (UNI) Panic gripped the historical town of Roorkee after a jeweller was shot dead in the main market area last evening.

Sources said four motorcycle-borne assailants in broad day light sprayed bullets on Pradeep in the market area and escaped after snatching his licensed revolver.

With this sensational murder, the boundaries of the town were sealed and Police Force from Roorkee Kotwali and Gang Nahar Kotwali, led by SP (Dehat) Ajay Joshi, launched a joint operation to nab the desperadoes.

However, the assailants were still absconding.

Mr Joshi told UNI today that the murder seemed to be a result of some personal enmity.
