Hooda for concerted efforts to protect environment
Chandigarh, Jun 4 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today expressed concern over climatic changes and urged people to make concerted efforts to protect the environment.
In a message issued here today on the eve of World Environment Day, the Chief Minister said the day was being celebrated every year to create awareness about environmental issues.
Reading out the slogan of World Environment Day for 2008, which is 'Co2-Kick the Habit ! Towards a low Carbon Economy', Mr Hooda said, ''We have to implement those initiatives which promote a low carbon economy to ensure sustainable development.'' Mr Hooda said change in climate had become an issue of concern.
Therefore, it was high time that a mass movement was launched to educate people on issues concerning environment.
