"Hike was adding salt to the wound": Yeddyurappa
Bangalore, Jun 4 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today came down heavily on the Congress led UPA Government at the Centre for hike in the prices of petroleum products.
"The hike is nothing but adding salt to the wound suffered by the people due to sky racketing prices of essential commodities", Mr Yeddyurappa told newsmen here.
He said that the hike would lead to further increase in the prices and most affected would be people belonging to Middle and lower class. "Common people who were already battered with the rising inflation will have face severe problems for the failure of UPA government at the Center" he added.
Mr Yeddyurappa was however evasive to answer when asked whether his government is going to reduce the Sales tax on petroleum products following the hike in the prices of petroleum products by the Center.
