HC directs UP govt to submit affidavit on Amar's petition

Lucknow, June 4 (UNI) Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High court today directed the Uttar Pradesh government to submit counter affidavit in the Samajwadi Party (SP) general secretary Amar Singh's land allotment case.

A bench comprising justices Sabihul Hussain and U K Dhawan pronounced the decision on the SP leader's petition and fixed the next hearing for June 9.

The petitioner had challenged the UP government's decision of initiating probe against him under R S Lakha Committee, and alleged the ivestigation was being done under political vendetta.

Documents concerning the case were today produced in the court as per its directives to the government in the last hearing.
