Haryana to observe World Environment Day
Chandigarh, Jun 4 (UNI) The Haryana government would observe World Environment Day tomorrow by organising various environment related awareness programmes at all district headquarters of the state.
Stating this here today, Minister of State for Environment and Forests Kiran Choudhry said that rallies, posters and painting competitions, tree plantation would be organised by the students of eco clubs and an environmental movie would be screened for the school children all across the state.
She said 'Environment Week' would be organised from June 5 to 12 and various awareness campaigns regarding environment would be held at Faridabad, Bhiwani, Panchkula, Yamuna Nagar, Mahanderagarh, Sonepat, Panipat, Gurgaon and Bahadurgarh.
The Minister said a State Level World Environment Day would be celebrated at Pinjore Gardens in district Panchkula. She said environment slogan stickers would be put by the school children on the vehicles crossing the National Highway and a drama 'Say No To Plastic Carry Bag' would be staged on this occasion.
In the evening, All India Kavi Sammelan would be organised at Rukmani Devi Hall at Ambala Cantt.
