Goa Govt employees launch pen down strike
Panaji, Jun 4 (UNI) About 40,000 government employees, affiliated to the Goa Government Employees Association (GGEA), went on a pen down strike from today to protest the government's failure to bring parity in pay scale.
GGEA president M L Shetkar said they would stage agitation in two phases.
The first phase of the agitation commenced today. But staff involved in essential services like electricity, water supply, health and navigation were exempted from joining the strike for first three days, Mr Shetkar said.
