German national found dead in city
Bangalore, Jun 4 (UNI) A German national was found dead at his residence on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) here.
According to police, the 44-year-old Torsten Rommel, who was working as Quality Controller for Shobha Developers, was on leave since May 31. He was supposed to report for duty on June 2.
When he did not come for work yesterday also, one of his colleague went to his house to find out the reason. As bad smell emitted from the house, he informed the police, who rushed to the spot. After breaking the door police found the highly decomposed body of Rommel lying on the bed.
Ruling out any foul play as the apartment's doors were locked from inside and no injury marks found on the body, police said he might have died two-three days ago due to heart attack.
However, the body was sent for postmortem.
The German Consulate in Chennai and the Foreigners Registration Centre have been informed about the death of Rommel, police added.
