BJP never promised for reservation to Gujjars: veteran

Indore, Jun 4 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party Mahila Morcha President Kiran Maheshwari said here today that neither BJP nor Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindhia promised to provide reservation to the Gujjars.

Talking to the reporters she said that it was even not mentioned in the manifesto. The rumour was misguiding and Centre is playing the role of adding fuel in the fire.

''BJP state is pledged to maintain the law and order in the state but it is not willing to subject the people to excesses,'' she said, adding that Gujjar community flaunting its adamancy but the ball was fully in the Centre's court.

Ms Maheshwari said that thought Congress leader Sachin Piolet and Avtar Singh Bhandana were doing their politics on Gujjars but never raised the demand to provide them the Scheduled Tribe status.

Ms Maheshwari arrived here to take part in the two-day executive meeting of Morcha.
