BJP is anti-Nepalese say Maoists

Kathmandu, June 4 : Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (CPN-M) leader Ram Bahadur Thapa has termed the latest derision by India's main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as purely "anti-Nepalese".

Nepalnews quoted Thapa as saying that by making this remark public BJP has "directly intervened in Nepal's internal affairs".

The BJP was quoted by Indian media reports that the Maoists gaining power in Nepal "was fraught with dangerous consequences for India" It also dubbed as a "negative" step the turning of the Hindu country into a secular republic.

Reports quoted senior BJP leader and former External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh as saying in New Delhi that the new government to be formed under the Maoist leadership in Nepal is against India's interest and also poses security threat to India.

Maoist leader said that by making such statements BJP has only laid bare India's "expansionist dreams".
