Andhra to pay Rs 5,000 each as incentives to farmers
Hyderabad, Jun 3 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government today decided to pay Rs 5,000 each as an incentive to around 22 lakh farmers who have repaid their crop loans dues to the banks and have not been covered under the loan waiver scheme announced by the Central Government recently.
Reviewing a meeting on agriculture at the secretariat here, he urged the bankers and officials of agriculture department to finalise the lists of farmers who were eligible under the Cetral Governmet's recent loan waiver scheme, an official release said here.
The entire process would be completed in the state between July one and 10, he said.
The meeting also decided to constitute a state-level committee, under the Chairmanship of Finance Minister K Rosaiah with the Minister for Agriculture Mr N Raghuveera Reddy and Minister for Co-operation Mohd Fareeduddin as members, to monitor the programme.
In addition, there would be district level committees headed by respective Collectors to finalise the lists of farmers, he said.
