UP police deserved more time to probe Noida case: Jaiswal
Lucknow, Jun 3 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal today said he expected patience on the part of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati in the Noida Aarushi-Hemraj twin murder case and she should have given the Special Task Force (STF) some more time to complete its probe.
Mr Jaiswal, denying that he had ever said that the CBI won't take the Aarushi-Hemraj murder case, stated the STF was a very distinguished investigative agency and the CM ought to have given some more time to them before recommending the case to the CBI.
''Such action by the state government would only demoralise the state police force,'' he said addressing the media here.
Mr Jaiswal, however, said when the case had been taken over by the CBI, now he expect it to get solved soon.
Asked about his reaction on the removal of senior officials involved in the investigation of the sensational murder case, the Union Minister observed the state government had all the rights to transfer its officers.
To a poser on the progress of the investigation into the Jaipur serial blasts case, he said some clinching evidence had been gathered, but the matter was yet to be open.
On the query about some bills, including the Uttar Pradesh Control of Organised Crime Act (UPCOCA) sent by the state government to the Centre, pending for the last couple of months, Mr Jaiswal said he was unaware of these bills.
