Speeding bus crushes auto, kills two in South Delhi

New Delhi, June 3 : Two persons, including a woman were killed in South Delhi today when a speeding tourist bus crossed over a road divider and hit an auto rickshaw coming from the opposite side.

The incident took place around 11 a.m. in the sector-8 of R. K. Puram.

The woman, who was traveling in the auto rickshaw, died on the spot. The auto rickshaw driver was badly injured and was rushed to Safdarjung Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The tourist bus also hit a car.

"The incident took place when a tourist bus from the other side of the road crossed the divider and collided with an auto. The bus was at so much speed that after crushing the auto it hit my car and damaged its front part," said Neel, the owner of the Honda City car that was damaged in the mishap.

"Few policemen pulled the bodies of the woman and the driver out of the auto where they were stuck and took them to the hospital immediately. The bus driver ran away from the spot," Jitender Kumar, an eye witness said.

Neel said he used a safety balloon in his car, which protected him. By Pratibha Verma
