Rohtang pass in Himachal Pradesh mesmerises tourists

Rohtang (Himachal Pradesh), June 3 : Tourists in large number are visiting Rohtang Pass in Himachal Pradesh as the plains witness upward movement of mercury these days.

The Rohtang Pass is open for tourists from late May to October every year.

The picturesque pass that connects the valleys of Kullu and Lahul-Spiti has become a major tourist hot spot.

"Its very interesting for us to look around to see these beautiful places. This place is also very beautiful because of the heights of the mountains and scenes, and picturesque landscape," said Lydia, a tourist from Russia.

More than 20,000 tourists are expected to visit the Rohtang Pass, the snow point of Manali, these days and are enjoying the thrill of snow sports.

Manali is reportedly experiencing all time high tourist arrival this year and Rohtang Pass is one of the main attractions for them.

"This is my first visit to this place. It's stunning. It's beautiful, but we the people have to preserve and conserve it," said M.K.Gupta, a tourist.
