RLD burns Raje in effigy; backs Gujjars

Lucknow, Jun 3 (UNI) Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) youth wing today staged demonstration and burnt Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje in effigy in front of the Vidhan Bhawan here for ''committing police atrocities on Gujjar agitators.

UP RLD youth wing president Arif Mahmood said the BJP government had used ''inhuman'' means to suppress the agitators, the government should step down on moral grounds for cane-charging and firing upon the innocent people in Rajasthan.

He further said the arrest of RLD youth wing president Jayant Chaudhary, while he was supporting the community for their genuine demands, was highly condemnable and shows BJP's ''unjust'' attitude towards others.

''We fully support the Gujjar community for their reservation demand and democratic rights,'' he maintained.
