RAS (Main) Examination postponed

Ajmer, Jun 3 (UNI) The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has postponed the Rajasthan Civil Service 2007 main examination scheduled to be held from June 12 for recruitment in RAS and allied services.

The main examination is likely to be held sometimes in August, a RPSC spokesman said.

The competitive examination has been postponed to comply with the Rajasthan High Court's order allowing 689 candidates of Other Backward Classes(OBCs) to appear in the main examination who have secured more marks than the cut-off mark for the general category.

The cut-off mark for the OBCs aspirants for the main examination was much higher than that of general category candidates and this prevented 689 candidates from OBCs , to qualify for the main examination.

They had moved the Rajasthan High Court which upheld their plea.
