Nitish Kumar govt has failed to execute NREGA: Raghuvansh
Muzaffarpur, Jun 3 (UNI) Union Rural Development Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh today accused the Bihar government of failing to execute the National Rural Employment Guarantee Assurance (NREGA) programme in the state.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Mr Singh alleged that the NREGA was not being implemented in the right earnest, adding that the irregularities of the state government regarding the execution of the scheme for the redressal of grievances of the rural masses had come out in public.
He alleged that while other states had spent the sanctioned amount for the scheme, the Bihar government failed to execute the scheme properly as it had spent only Rs 638 crore so far.
''The Nitish Kumar government has been boasting about its good governance only on paper, but it is unable to fulfill the aspirations of the people,'' he said.
''I mysely will analyse the development work under the NREGA in Muzaffarpur district on June 6,'' the minister stated.
