Left Front files nominations for Panihati Municipality elections
Barrackpore, June 3 (UNI) The ruling Left Front has fielded its candidates for the June 29 poll in all the 35 seats of Panihati Municipality in North 24 Parganas while Opposition parties are yet to file any nominations.
Official sources said here today that submission of nomination papers for the municipality elections will continue till June five.
While the Left Front major CPI(M) nominated 28 candidates, including party Chairman Charan Chakraborty, the other constituents of the Left Front were allotted seven tickets - the CPI three, RSP two and Forward Bloc one.
A candidate was also fielded under the banner of the Left Front supported Nagarik Samity to contest the elections, party sources said.
