Inmate killed while trying to escape from jail
Dahod, Jun 3 (UNI) An inmate of Dahod Sub Jail, trying to escape from the prison with four others, was killed when the guards opened fire on them.
Five inmates, held on charges of loot, dacoity and other heinous crimes, were lodged in Dahod Sub Jail. Last night, the quintet tried to break open the locks of barrack No 2 in prison. By the time, they reached the main gate, the jail guards noticed their movements and asked them to surrender, police said today.
The inmates nevertheless continued their attempt to break the lock. Then, the guards opened fire in which Subhash Sangadia, a dreaded criminal, was killed.
However, four others were overpowered and sent to their barracks.
Inspector General (Prisons) Keshav Kumar and Dahod Superintendent of Police Vipul Agraval rushed to the Sub Jail and launched an investigation into the incident.
