Fire in factory in Noida; no one injured
Noida, June 3 (UNI) A major fire broke out in a plastic manufacturing plant here early today.
Fire Service Officer (FSO) Abhay Bhan Pandey said 19 fire engines were pressed into service to put out the fire which started at 0715 hrs.
The blaze at the plant which manufactures covers for electric meters was later brought under control.
However, no one was injured in the inferno and the neighbouring factories were also saved from the flames.
The FSO said the fire engines had been called in from Bulandshahr, Ghaziabad, Noida and New Delhi.
The owner of the factory D P Gupta, a retired IAS officer, estimated the loss to the tune of Rs 70 crore to Rs 80 crore.
