EE and AE suspended for dereliction of duty
Bangalore, June 3 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today ordered suspension of two senior officials who were allegedly responsible for death of four labourers in a bridge collapse in Tumkur district yesterday.
He ordered Executive Engineer M Shanthakumar and Assistant Executive Engineer of No 4, Hemavathi Canal, Gubbi, Tumkur District, with immediate effect holding them responsible for the four deaths and injuries to eight others.
Stating that his government will not tolerate dereliction of duty, irresponsibility and dishonesty, Mr Yeddyurappa warned that the Government servants should bear this in mind, otherwise they would attract severe disciplinary action, an official release from the Chief Minister Secretariat said tonight.
The Chief Minister also ordered for black listing the contractor responsible for yesterday's tragedy.
