CITU workers stir against petro products scarcity in UT
Puducherry, Jun 3 (UNI) More than 100 CITU volunteers, including CPI(M) state secretary V Perumal and former secretary T Murugan, were arrested when they resorted to a road blockade at Kamaraj statue junction here today.
The agitation was to protest against the scarcity of petrol and diesel in the Union Territory.
Urging the government to take effective action to make the fuel available, they alleged that the administration was supporting the petrol bunk dealers, who were refusing to sell it despite adequate stock, anticipating the price hike.
