Chhattisgarh Govr gets memo on Bodsara

Raipur, June 3 (UNI) Chhattisgarh Governor E S L Narasimhan was today handed over a memorandum, by a 30-member delegation led by parliamentarian and former chief minister Ajit Jogi and Congress state President Dhanendra Sahu, for acquiring the Bodsara Bada and handing over the privately-owned roughly one-acre plot, in Bilaspur district, to the Satnami community.

The memo urged the state government to take the initiative for settling the pending Bodsara dispute out of court. Satnamis lay claim to the land by saying that it was their Guru Balkdas' 'karmabhoomi'. Following the owner's plea, the state High Court ordered a stay.

The memo said that the Satnamis had basis to support their claim and added that those arrested, during the land-linked agitation, should be freed.
