Challan against AEE produced in Kashmir court in bribe case

Srinagar, Jun 3 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Vigilance Organisation (VO) today produced a challan in a court against Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) who was caught red-handed accepting a bribe.

A spokesman of the VO said the challan was produced in the court of Anti-corruption Kashmir against Khursheed Anwar Shah, AEE then posted in Roads and Building sub-divison Magam in a bribery case.

He said the accused engineer was caught while accepting a bribe of Rs 2000 on March 22 last year.

The engineer had demanded the bribe from a contractor for release of his bill worth Rs 1,12,259.

After accord of sanction for prosecution by the government, the challan was produced in the court of law along with the accused AEE.

The next date of hearing has been fixed for July 18.
