UBI to offer online trading

Chennai, Jun 2 (UNI) Union Bank of India (UBI), a leading nationalised bank in the country today announced a strategic alliance with Emkay Share and Stock Brokers Limited, a leading stock broking company in India, which will offer Emkay's online trading services to the bank's customers.

UBI, with its network of 2,518 branches, all integrated under Core Banking Solution (CBS) and with its ethos and customer-centric approach plan, was attempting to address the fast-growing phenomenon of internet trading and offered a convenient platform to the value-seeking, cash-rich new-age consumer, looking to save precious time, a bank release here said.

The E-Investing Platform 'EMTRADE,' offered by Emkay, would allow the bank's customers to seamlessly execute their transactions according to their investment needs and at their convenience, it said.

Any customer of UBI at any of its CBS branches could use this online trading platform from any place with an internet connection.

"This association is aimed at offering to UBI's customers the convenience of online investing as well as the ability to make informed investment decisions. We are assured that this synergy would prove beneficial to the two organisations and also to the end consumer," Mr Pravin K Bansal, Deputy General Manager, UBI, said.
