Two youths drown in river

Kolhapur, Jun 2 (UNI) Two youths drowned in the Bhogawati river near Parite village in Karvir tehsil of the district today.

The youths were identified as Mayur Mahesh Warke (17) and Washim Raju Mistri (18), both from Parite, police said.

Mayur, a standard 12th student, and Washim went to the river for bathing. When Washim, who did not know swimming, began to drown in the river water, Mayur rushed to save him but both drowned.

Their bodies were later fished out by the villagers, police added.
