Three injured as detonators explode at irrigation project site

Kadappa, Andhra Pradesh, Jun 2 (UNI) Three people, including a 12-year-old boy, were seriously injured when detonators exploded at an irrigation project site near Parnapali village in this district today.

Police said a fire broke out in a makeshift hut, put up near the Gandikota lift irrigation project. Noticing the flames billowing out of the hut, two persons, who were passing by on a two-wheeler, doused the fire by sprinkling water.

After the fire came under control, the two persons, along with the boy, started shifting the utensils from the hut, when detonators, stocked in a box, exploded.

The injured trio was shifted to a nearby hospital. Their condition was stated to be critical. A case was registered and investigation launched.
